"I couldn't sleep. I woke up about 6am the morning of my wedding. I was just way too excited. I knew it was going to happen. I do the same thing when I am excited about anything. I wake up and start thinking of everything and then cannot fall back asleep. I made myself a deal months prior that I wouldn't emerge from the bridal suite until at least 8am. I laid there with my eyes closed until I finally fell back asleep.
"Waking up at The Mansion was absolutely wonderful. I could hear a few of my bridesmaids heading downstairs for breakfast and coffee. I decided to head down and had some coffee myself. Nerves and excitement had my stomach doing backflips. I grabbed a quick english muffin (no, I didn't have the sexy french toast the day of my wedding. I saved it for the day after!) before heading back up to the bridal suite for my massage, which was one of the best ideas ever! I was so glad to hear the giggles coming up the stairs while my mom, mother-in-law, and bridesmaids were being wooed by Winston, The Mansion's executive chef.
"Next thing I knew, the massage was over and Julie, from Pittsburgh Makeup, and Brooke and Harbor, from Brooke Rockwell Hair Design, were setting up in the bathroom. This was the theme of my day. One second I would be doing one thing and then right on to the next. All six of my bridesmaids, my mom, mother-in-law, and myself were glammed up, dressed up and going to the chapel! I was so glad I booked the night before at The Mansion because I was so relaxed and everything just moved so easily. It all went so fast, but was made so much easier by being in one place.
"After a few portraits at The Mansion, we were off. During the ceremony, I tried to tell myself to remember everything. How I felt, how Joey looked, how my life was changing. Now, I barely remember those little details and am so glad I ended up booking a videographer!
"I can remember how excited I was to get back to The Mansion after our photo pit stops. I just wanted to eat, drink and dance. The grand entrance was one of my favorites of the whole night. I was so overwhelmed with the amount of people who were there just for us. To be there when we were married and to show love and support for our future together. I almost shed a tear, but was able to hold it back for the pure and simple fact that we were being introduced to Hypnotize by Notorious BIG. That's how we roll.
"When we finally were able to head into the tent, I was so relieved. I saw everything I had been picturing for the entire year and a half we were engaged. The flowers, the linens, the cake, the lighting, the food. Everything was perfect. I couldn't have asked for better vendors to help me bring my vision into a reality. Our first dance, bouquet/garter toss, parent dances and cake cutting all were right on time even though I had no idea what time it was all day long. There is no way I could have done this without the dedication of the staff at The Mansion that day.
"And now I am just a married old lady who gets to relive her wedding every day. I'll take it. I'd relive that day every day for the rest of my life if I could."
